During area planning charrettes held in 2006 and 2007, community stakeholders made recommendations for the West Baltimore MARC Station, which included the following:
- Stopping commuters from parking in residential neighborhood
- Making the station an attraction/asset for the community
- Improving and integrating the traffic flow for all current & future modes of transportation (i.e. walking, riding, biking, and driving)
These transportation recommendations were adopted as part of the Baltimore City Planning Commission as part of the West Baltimore MARC Station Area Plan in Fall 2008. The MTA continues to work with community stakeholders to move forward on projects that will lay the foundation for the revitalization goals for the West Baltimore MARC Station Area.
